We’ve had bitter experiences with harassment from the outpost El Matan, especially the settler AL. Not long ago we filed a complaint against him [with the assistance of Yesh Din] for poisoning a well on our farmland. My son S and my nephew M filed the complaint, they were the ones who caught him. They identified him in a police lineup at the Ariel Police.
This morning, January 27, 2009 I left to work on my plot at 7 am, it’s 700 meters from the settlement and 20 meters from the road leading to El Matan, and I saw that thirty olive saplings I had planted last year were all uprooted. My estimate is that it happened two-three days earlier, because we go to our land very often. We saw the saplings just four days earlier.
Nobody saw whoever did this awful thing. All the farmers and I suspect the settler AL because not long ago we filed a police complaint against him for poisoning our well and caught him doing it and there was a police lineup at the Ariel Police and he was identified. In addition, Mr. AL is very violent and has caused us a lot of trouble over the past five-six years, and the people of Kafr Thulth have filed many police complaints against him.
